Cyto-Matrix is a professionally branded product line, exclusively. All our products have been developed in consultation with licenced health professionals (ie) naturopathic and/or medical doctors and chiropractors, so that they meet the very unique needs of patients. Many of these patients have high sensitivities or poor digestion. Commonly used lubricants (such as magnesium stearate, stearic acid and ascorbal palmitate) may be difficult for those with dysfunctional digestion to break down. Some binding agents, as used in tablets, for example, may prove difficult for those with sensitivities or allergies.

Cyto-Matrix products are manufactured without the use of these agents. Our product formulations are also of a high standardization and the combination formulas are very unique to Cyto-Matrix. The ingredients typically target a specific health issue, as opposed to a formula designed for the mass market. Our policy to distribute products only through licensed professionals also aids in ensuring that the right product is prescribed to the right patient in the right dosage. Your health practitioner has knowledge of your medical history, other medications, allergies etc., which helps to ensure the products are used in the safest manner.

"Standardization" is the process built into production and quality control procedures to ensure that a consistent and reproducible level of active ingredients is obtained from each dose of herb. For example, two products may both have 125mg of Oregon Grape Extract. However, if one focuses on the active constituent of berberine in the Oregon Grape Extract, one product may contain a lower percentage of berberine. The result is a lower amount of the active ingredient which is intended to produce a desired effect. The Cyto-Matrix Oregon Grape extract is standardized to 97% berberine, which is a very high level of active ingredient. The advantages of standardization are as follows:

  • High quality extracts with consistent activity
  • Consistent activity allows for more accurate prescribing
  • Consistent activity allows for consistent clinical results

A botanical is a plant or plant part valued for its medicinal or therapeutic properties, flavor, and/or scent. Herbs are a subset of botanicals. Products made from botanicals that are used to maintain or improve health may be called herbal products, botanical products, or phytomedicines.

In naming botanicals, botanists use a Latin name made up of the genus and species of the plant. Under this system the botanical black cohosh is known as Actaea racemosa L., where "L" stands for Linneaus, who first described the type of plant specimen.

Cyto-Matrix Inc. is 100% committed to strict adherence to the guidelines set forth by Health Canada's Natural and Non-prescription Health Products Directorate (NNHPD). Canadian licensing requirements are rigorous and aim to protect Canadians from invalid health claims and sub-standard product quality. All our products are manufactured in a state of the art facility which holds a valid site licence. Site licences became mandatory under the new regulations, as of December 31, 2005. The regulations require licensure on all natural health products. Licenced products are assigned a Natural Product Number (NPN). These numbers are contained on the front label panel of Cyto-Matrix products. Cyto-Matrix not only seeks to meet the requirements, but exceed the requirements for product quality, safety and efficacy.

All our capsules are made from a vegetable source.
